Beavertail Lighthouse & Museum
Beavertail State Park is known for offering some of the most beautiful vistas along the New England coastline. Beavertail’s most popular activity is sightseeing, and can be done from the comfort of a vehicle, in one of the four overlooks or on foot, from the rocky coastline. Beavertail also provides some of the best saltwater fishing in the area, along with offering hiking trails, and a naturalist program that attracts hundreds of people each year.

Coastal Queen Cruises, Events From Jamestown
Coastal Queen Cruises has Special Event Cruises that depart from Jamestown. Most Coastal Queen day cruises and boat tours depart from Bowen’s Wharf in Newport (see Coastal Queen Cruises, from Newport), however, event cruises from Jamestown have become popular with folks on the other side of the Newport Pell Bridge. Special events may feature: a beer or wine tasting, local musicians, entertainers, holiday themes and more. These scenic boat rides provide comfortable sightseeing around Jamestown's shoreline, lower Narragansett Bay and the Newport Harbor area. Coastal Queen has an extended cruise season since this spacious boat features a covered top deck with clear, roll-down side curtains and a glass-enclosed lower deck that can be heated on chilly days. There is an onboard bar, snack bar and restrooms. The boat’s main deck and Jamestown ramp are ADA accessible. Coastal Queen is also available for private event charters. Conanicut Island Sanctuary
This lesser known property consists of a short loop trail and connector that features a few boardwalks. The trail can be a little muddy in spots and is a little root bound, so do watch your footing. There are three observation areas that overlook Marsh Meadows, a large salt cove. The first is an area with a sitting bench, the other two are raised observation decks. Many birds here have been seen including egrets, herons, sandpipers, ospreys, and ibis. Needless to say this spot for birdwatchers and photographers. Across the salt marsh is a farm and it is not uncommon to hear the mooing of cows. The property also features stone walls and a grove of white birch. Parking is not easy at all as the trailhead is actually at a highway off-ramp. The Jamestown Police Station is a few hundred feet south of the property. I had parked there. I did go in and ask permission to do so and suggest that you do to. The little bit of the walk from there to the trail head is well worth it though. This is a great property!

Fort Getty
Fort Getty Park is a Town-owned facility located at the terminus of Fort Getty Road and is 41 acres in size. Fort Getty is primarily a recreational-vehicle campground that also contains a tent camping area. The Park itself-has old fortifications, a rocky beach, a public boat ramp and a dock.

Godena Farm
After years of negotiation, the Conanicut Island Land Trust has purchased this exceptional property that will enable us to reach out to our island community in many new and exciting ways. The twenty-six acre Godena Farm spans North Main Road, includes a farmhouse and barn, and offers sweeping views of open pasture that transport us back to an earlier time. The first major project–reroofing the barn–is complete. Next we will focus on removing the rusted barbed wire that no longer serves an agricultural purpose. In the months and years ahead, it is our goal to make the Godena Farm central to our community, a place where kids and grownups alike can share the beauty, connect with the natural world, and–hopefully–leave refreshed.
